Enrollment
for the 2012-13 school year continues at Animas High School. Students and
families looking to enroll at AHS should visit www.animashighschool.com and complete an
online intent to
enroll form. Enrollment will remain open until
October 1 or until the school has reached capacity for 2012-13.
AHS is
currently accepting enrollments for a limited number
of openings in our 9th, 10th
and 11th grade classes.

PowerSchool
Animas
High School faculty, students and parents are now connected! PowerSchool, AHS's
online grade book is up and running for the 2012-13 School Year. A letter from
the Registrar's Office containing your student’s individualized login and
password information was sent home last week.
You didn’t receive your student’s letter?
Parents are encouraged to call the Main Office to ask for their student's
unique sign-in info if your letter failed to make it to you. Please make sure you're
following along at home! Teachers are
expected to have PowerSchool updated by Monday @ 5pm for all
grades/assessments/activities from the prior week.
Faculty Digital Portfolios
Please
make sure you’re connected to your student’s teachers! All AHS Faculty maintain
websites so that students and their families can follow along online. From faculty
syllabi to daily homework assignments, Digital Portfolios are there for you to
stay current in real time. Find our teachers’ DP Links here:
Faculty Contacts & Office Hours
AHS
teaching faculty make themselves available to our students multiple times
throughout the school week. Please make
sure you know when your student’s teachers hold office hours and extra help
sessions. Please encourage your students to seek faculty our during these times!

It’s
been a very busy start to the 2012-13 school year for the AHS College &
Career Counseling Dept. Thanks to everyone who came out for the upperclassmen
college nights and the financial aid roadshow event. We’ve received terrific
feedback about these evening experiences!

Animas High School is
honored to announce the selection of Tucker Leavitt, Class of 2013, as an NMSC
Semi-finalist. Tucker’s scholastic efforts and his commitment to academic

Our school is looking for a donation
of a bike rack. Do you, someone in your family or an acquaintance have a bike
rack that they would be willing to donate? If so, please drop it off next

Software Engineer for Magpie Software and 15- year member of the Society of
Women Engineers.
When: Thursday, Sept. 20th

What: Learn
about the typical day of a software programmer and the skills needed to become
one. Diane will also share some of the more interesting jobs she has worked on
as well as some other projects that involve software programming such as the
Mars Rover and Twitter.

students and staff will participate in the Durango Connect Event, Thursday,
September 27th, 2012. From 10 to 11:00 AM
There
will be No School on Friday, September 28.
It is a professional development day.
The
next Animas High School PAC Meeting will
take place on Monday, October 8, 2012 at
Durango Doughworks
