AHS Weekly Update- Week of April 30th, 2012
Thank you to everyone who participated in last Friday’s ALL-SCHOOL CLEANING DAY. Our campus is now in great shape as we head into this week’s classes and evening events. Please take a moment to review the following updates:
End of Year-All School Exhibitions
Animas High School students will be participating in two final Exhibition events in the Month of May.
Humanities, Spanish and Digital Arts students will be hosting a final End of the Year Exhibition at AHS on Thursday, May 3rd from 5 to 7 PM (7:30 end for 10th grade Humanities)
The 9th grade class read the book Brave New World by Aldo Huxley, and created projects demonstrating an idea in Brave New World that is truthful and beautiful.
The 10th grade Humanities class will be providing dazzling displays of poetic prowess in our 2nd annual Poetry Cafe. Come hang out in our relaxing atmosphere and listen to studentsperform their poems about peace, violence, or power in a variety of different formats. Refreshments will be available!
Come taste the Poetry of Food in the sophomore Spanish students' Cafe del Mundo Latino. Students will be on site to share tasty treats from the Spanish-speaking world, regale you withdetails about the country from whence their dish came, and read their odes to food inspired by Pablo Neruda's famous Odes to Simple Things.
A second, final Exhibition event will take place May 17th and will feature work from our Junior class in multiple subject areas.
